Plugin Name: password

Availability: Zap Calendar Standard Zap Calendar Pro

Purpose: (New in version 3.0) To password protect calendars by requiring a password to add or edit events from the front end.  This is a shared password used per calendar.  It can allow anonymous or registered users with the correct password to add or suggest events.  It can be used with Joomla 1.5 sites or Joomla 1.6+ sites without needing to setup ACL rules.

Configuration:

After installing and enabling the plugin, you will also need to enable the password plugin in the view under the plugin settings tab.  This is where you also set the shared password for the view.  You can also specify if the password is needed for both editing and adding events or for just adding events.  You will need to notify your users of the password.

From the front-end, a password field will appear in the event editor.  The user will need to enter the correct password in order to save the event.  The password field does not appear in the back-end event editor.  Passwords are encrypted before sending them to the web server for verification.
