They had installed the expat library as I had reported earlier.

They are now running PHP 5.2.9 and libxml2 2.7.3 and the problem appears to be fixed. I hope it's stable now.

Hi,

I must not be doing something correctly. I also installed expat but continue to get this error. Can you tell more about how you installed expat and what if any additional changes you made.

Sorry, I can't tell you how this was installed as my web host did it.

It seems to be working (perhaps without expat) with the environment which I mentioned in my prior post.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Hi,

I made attempt #2 at installing expat and updated to 5.28 php. It all now works properly. I previously did not compile Apache properly with expat.

Will there be a fix for this forthcoming for those who are on shared webservers that do not have expat installed? This has been broken for quite some time now.

As of May 13th, 2010, I am getting this on my Zweather:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getTagName() on a non-object in /home/kradmin/public_html/components/com_zweather/zweather.class.php on line 831

My host is running PHP 5.2.12, libxml 2.7.6 , and expat-1.95.8-8.3.el5_4.2

My host suspects something may have changed in the XML feed - is anyone else running into this issue?

Edit: Nothing has changed on the server in the past 48 hours.
