I have 2 quick questions.
1.) when testing out the cron script i receive the following error.

./cronweather www.mysite.com
**** Error: Not a valid alert XML file: XML file type is br instead of cap:alert.(www.mysite.com)

2.) On the global settings page for Z Weather on joomla I see the following.

Z Weather settings file /components/com_zweather/zweather.ini is : Writeable
Z Weather cache directory /cache/com_zweather/ is : Unwriteable
Z Weather icon cache directory /images/com_zweather/nwsicons/ is : Writeable

I have tried to find the cache directory in question to change the permissions but have been unable to do so as of yet.

We are running Joomla 1.5.8 on Ubuntu 8.04

Check your location configuration and make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces in the alert zone field. Newer versions of Z Calendar use a different feed for alerts which is less memory intensive, particularly when there is a lot of storm activity.
