TOPIC: Events show in only one of two calendars

Events show in only one of two calendars 9 years 5 months ago #4873

I have two calendars configured and 10 event categories. One calendar is on the website front page and shows only events from the 'Featured Events' category. The main calendar displays the other 9 categories, does not include the 'Featured Events' category. Here's the problem:

If I have an event in the 'Sports' category, it show fine the the main calendar. If I set that event to be included in both the 'Sports' category and the 'Featured Events' category, it then show fine on the front page but does not show anymore in the main calendar. If I remove it from the 'Featured Events' category, it reappears in the main calendar.

I do not include the 'Featured Events' category in the main calendar display since I do not want users to select that category with the category chooser. In this case, I want the event to show as a 'Sports''event in the main calendar and as a 'Featured Event' on the front page.

The work-around I am now using is to make a second event (duplicate) to show on the front page so that one event shows in the main calendar and the duplicated event shows on the front page.

I have been using the workaround for over two months now.
Is this something that is going to be fixed soon? Is this just a configuration parameter I have set incorrectly?
Please advise, thanks!
